Full time Academic Mentor - Mathematics

My client secondary school, located in South Leicester, Leicestershire are looking for an academic tutor to support pupils in maths.
 
The school have identified a number of pupils that are taking their GCSEs next summer that need extra support and tuition in order to gain a good grade in Maths.  The recruited graduate will be working with a small number of pupils on a rota basis, looking at where they currently are with maths and what areas they require additional help in.  The recruited mentor will then be setting out a plan for progression for each individual pupil.
 
The school are ideally looking for a maths graduate – or someone with a good A Level in maths – who has previous experience of working with or supporting young people, be that in or outside of a school.

This is an exciting temporary opportunity for a maths graduate to join a Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school by providing tailored support to those that need it most.

To be successful in your application, you should:

• Hold a degree in Maths or strong A Level in Maths
• Have experience of working with young people, preferably at Secondary level
• Be able to get to a school in South Leicester
• Have high expectations for yourself and the pupils you teach
• Be available five days a week – starting in October ‘25
