Location: Melton Mowbray
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £40,000 (Dependent on experience) + Excellent Staff Benefits

Our client, a highly reputable and well-established business based in Melton Mowbray, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. The Role

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and submitting VAT returns

• Completing reconciliations and managing balance sheets

• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting

• Performing financial analysis and reporting

• Supporting the month-end process and management accounts

• Assisting with sales and purchase ledger

• Ensuring timely and accurate financial data

This is a hands-on role within a close-knit team where your work will directly support the business's continued success and growth.

About You

To thrive in this position, you should have:

• Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Finance role

• Strong understanding of core accounting principles and processes

• Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data analysis tools)

• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach

• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset

A qualification such as ACCA or CIMA (or working towards) is highly desirable and will be supported where applicable.
