Our client, a highly reputable and well-established business based in Melton Mowbray, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. The Role
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Completing reconciliations and managing balance sheets
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
Performing financial analysis and reporting
Supporting the month-end process and management accounts
Assisting with sales and purchase ledger
Ensuring timely and accurate financial data
This is a hands-on role within a close-knit team where your work will directly support the business's continued success and growth.
About You
To thrive in this position, you should have:
Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Finance role
Strong understanding of core accounting principles and processes
Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data analysis tools)
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
A collaborative, team-oriented mindset
A qualification such as ACCA or CIMA (or working towards) is highly desirable and will be supported where applicable.
