The Role Reporting to the
Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant will support the finance department with the day-to-day management of purchase ledger activities across UK and international entities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Registering incoming purchase ledger invoices and distributing them to relevant departments for approval
- Matching and receipting invoices against purchase orders
- Processing approved purchase invoices
- Processing employee expenses and company credit card transactions
- Preparing and processing weekly supplier payments via BACS and Faster Payments
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
- Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records and payment entries
- Managing sales ledger customer data including setting up new customer accounts and updating existing records for UK and international entities
Candidate Profile We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a collaborative finance team.
Essential requirements:- AAT Qualified or currently studying towards AAT Level 4
- Previous purchase ledger experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- IT literate with confidence using finance systems
- Flexible, proactive and willing to learn
Desirable:- Experience using Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar systems
