About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Acrylic Fabrication Prototyper to join our team and support growing project demand. The purposes of the role is to produce high-quality acrylic prototypes and custom pieces from concept to completion. This includes fabrication, assembly, finishing, and working closely with design and development teams to turn ideas into accurate, working samples.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce acrylic prototypes using a range of fabrication techniques including cutting, bonding, bending, forming, polishing, and finishing.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and project specifications accurately.

• Operate workshop tools such as panel saws, laser cutters, routers, line benders, buffers, and hand tools.

• Build bespoke items and one-off pieces to tight tolerances and design requirements.

• Work with designers/engineers to problem-solve and refine prototype concepts.

• Carry out quality checks to ensure final products meet required standards.

• Maintain accurate records of builds, materials used, and fabrication steps.

• Ensure the workspace is kept clean, safe, and compliant with Health & Safety requirements.

• Assist in improving fabrication processes and developing new production methods.

• Support production runs once prototypes are approved, when required.

About You:

• Proven experience in acrylic fabrication or similar plastic manufacturing.

• Strong understanding of acrylic handling techniques (bonding, forming, line bending, polishing, flame polishing, routing).

• Ability to work from drawings and produce accurate bespoke items.

• Skilled in using fabrication machinery and hand tools safely and confidently.

• Good problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.

• Able to work independently and collaborate with design and development teams.
  
  Desirable

• Experience with laser cutting or CNC routing.

• Knowledge of other plastics and materials (polycarbonate, PETG, PVC, etc.).

• Background in signage, display manufacturing, point-of-sale fabrication, or model making.
