The Role:
As an Adoption Engineer, you will support the Technical Manager in managing a portfolio of residential developments. You will be responsible for preparing all relevant engineering information with precision and ensuring timely delivery. This role offers excellent exposure and career development opportunities in engineering within the housebuilding industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside senior team members to gain practical experience in day-to-day engineering duties.
- Control and coordinate engineering information between external consultants and internal departments.
- Check engineering drawings and details for accuracy, correctness, and commercial suitability.
- Ensure technical approvals are secured for S38 and S104 agreements.
- Liaise with external consultants to meet critical deadlines.
- Apply for and secure statutory body approval for engineering designs and ground remediation.
- Attend site visits and meetings to resolve issues arising during construction.
- Attend design meetings with highways and drainage departments to understand council requirements for new developments.
- Provide engineering and technical support to site teams throughout the construction process.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
Experience:
- Previous experience in a volume housebuilding or consultancy-based role is desirable.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Experience carrying out the typical duties expected of an engineering role in the residential construction sector.
Qualifications and Training:
- Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in a Construction or Engineering discipline, with relevant practical experience.
- CSCS card (or equivalent certification).
- Current full UK driving licence.
