Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Dependent on experience (approx. £50,000–£55,000 pro rata)
Working Pattern:

• Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays
• 08:00 – 18:30
• Flexibility may be considered for the right candidate

Role Overview The Welby Practice is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join their primary care team on a permanent basis. This role requires a highly autonomous clinician with strong assessment, diagnostic, and decision?making abilities. The successful candidate will deliver high?quality, evidence?based care to patients of all ages within a supportive, multidisciplinary GP practice environment.

You will be responsible for independently managing acute conditions, minor illness, long?term conditions, and undifferentiated presentations while contributing to the wider clinical development of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive clinical assessments, including history taking, examination, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Independently manage minor illness and undifferentiated presentations
• Prescribe independently within V300 scope, ensuring safe and effective prescribing practice
• Request and interpret diagnostic investigations, acting on results appropriately
• Support ongoing management of long-term conditions, including:
  • Asthma
  • COPD
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
• Deliver health promotion, preventative care, and patient self?management guidance
• Refer patients to secondary care or community services as required
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records using SystmOne
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and wider MDT members
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and audit activities

Essential Requirements

• Qualified ANP/ACP with full Level 7 Master’s qualification
• Independent Prescribing (V300)
• Previous experience in Primary Care / GP Surgery settings
• Proficient user of SystmOne
• Ability to work autonomously and safely manage clinical risk
