Applications Engineer – Specialist Grinding Solutions

Location: Coventry HQ with regular UK & European travel

Salary: £38,500–£45,000 basic + Company Car + Healthcare + Pension

A well-established leader in advanced machine tool technology is growing its specialist grinding division and is looking for an Applications Engineer to play a key role in delivering turnkey metal cutting solutions across the UK and Europe.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll work across the full lifecycle of precision grinding projects—from concept through to installation and acceptance. You’ll take ownership of machining strategy, CNC programming, and ensure successful first article inspection and final sign-off.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop machining strategies tailored to each project
• Create CNC programs (Fanuc experience preferred)
• Manage and document First Article Inspection (FAI)
• Carry out customer training and machine acceptance
• Support turnkey projects both on-site and remotely
• Collaborate with internal and European engineering teams

What You’ll Need

• A strong engineering background with 4+ years in a machine tool environment
• Previous experience as a Production Engineer or CNC Setter/Operator
• Confident with NC programming; Fanuc control experience is a strong plus
• Experience in creep feed grinding is an advantage, not a requirement
• Familiarity with CAM systems and machine simulation software is beneficial
• Self-driven, clear communicator, and capable of managing multiple projects
