Job Description:
A leading manufacturer of cutting tools is seeking an experienced and driven Area Sales Engineer to maintain and grow sales across the East Midlands manufacturing sector. This is a key role for a self‑starter with a strong understanding of metal cutting and machining processes, particularly within aerospace, oil & gas, and automotive industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and report on sales performance, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
- Maintain and expand business development with existing key accounts in cutting tools.
- Identify and generate new business opportunities to grow the customer base.
- Prepare quotations and follow up effectively.
- Collaborate with colleagues to respond to customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales and market penetration in the territory.
- Represent the company at trade fairs and industry events.
Candidate Requirements
- Engineering background with experience in aerospace, oil & gas, or automotive sectors is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of metal cutting and machining processes.
- Proven sales experience with a track record of success.
- Resourceful, with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Competent in IT tools and software for sales and reporting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Confident in customer engagement and relationship building.
- Self‑motivated, independent, and results‑driven.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
