Main Duties:

As an Assistant Accountant your main duties include:

• Provide support to the Group Finance Manager and wider Management Accounting team.
• Assist with the production of monthly and annual accounts.
• Work across treasury, stock accounting, and accounts payable query resolution, with flexibility to support other finance areas.
• Help implement improvements following the introduction of a new ERP system.
• Prepare daily cash reports and perform bank reconciliations.
• Support weekly payment runs and ensure efficient processing of stock transactions.
• Assist with month-end activities, including accruals and prepayments.
• Take on additional responsibilities within management accounting to broaden knowledge and support process improvements.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Proficient in Excel, including use of advanced formulas (e.g. IF, XLOOKUP, SUMIF).
• Supportive and approachable, able to guide non-financial colleagues in senior roles.
• A collaborative team player who contributes to shared success.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
• Demonstrates leadership potential and ambition to grow within the team.
• Highly organised with strong multi-tasking abilities.
• Clear and confident verbal communicator.
• Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
