Assistant Accountant 
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (plus great benefits & Study Support)

We are working in partnership with a well-established organisation based in Nottingham to recruit a talented Assistant Accountant. This is a varied and rewarding role that blends core accounting responsibilities with general support for internal systems and business operations.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting cycles, and ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations. In addition, the role includes providing general support for internal systems and liaising with external providers to ensure business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile invoices, payments, and bank transactions
• Maintain accurate ledgers and financial documentation
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and payroll coordination
• Prepare financial reports and assist with audits
• Provide general support for internal systems and IT-related queries
• Help maintain software licenses and coordinate with external IT support

Candidate Profile

• Part Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) 
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (SAP knowledge beneficial)
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with IT systems and basic troubleshooting
• Valid UK driving licence and passport
