Job Description:

Assistant Estimator - Leading Tier 1 Contractor 

Location: Nottingham 

Salary: £28,000 - £38,000
Benefits: Car Allowance (£5k), Healthcare, Pension 7% matched, 15% bonus, 26 days holiday

As an Assistant Estimator, you will support the Pre-Construction and Estimating team in preparing competitive and accurate cost plans and tender submissions. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects while developing a strong commercial and technical understanding of the construction process

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and other tender documentation

• Taking off quantities and supporting the build-up of cost plans

• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations

• Contributing to bid documentation and ensuring deadlines are met

• Working collaboratively with internal teams including design, commercial, and operations

• You’ll gradually take on more responsibility as your experience grows, with clear progression routes into Estimator and beyond.

Key Requirements:

• Some experience in construction estimating (placement year, apprenticeship, or graduate role welcome)

• Strong numerical and analytical skills
