The Company:
ER Recruitment are excited to be working with our client, who have a stunning 42-acre estate in the Leicestershire countryside, featuring manicured gardens and lawns, agricultural land, a lake and a golf course. They are now looking for an Assistant Groundsperson to join their small and friendly team, supporting the Estate Manager with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the grounds to ensure the estate continues to look its very best all year round.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days will be the same and where you will play an important part in maintaining a truly unique environment.

Role & Responsibilities of the Assistant Groundsperson:

• Supporting the Estate Manager with the general upkeep of the estate grounds
• Mowing, hedge cutting, strimming and general grounds maintenance
• Assisting with the maintenance of the private nine-hole golf course
• Planting trees, shrubs and seasonal planting across the estate
• Supporting lake edge maintenance and wider estate projects
• Operating gardening tools and grounds maintenance machinery safely and efficiently
• Assisting with irrigation systems and lawn care
• Helping maintain tools, machinery and work areas to a high standard
• Working closely with the small estate team to ensure the grounds remain safe, tidy and visually appealing

About You as the Assistant Groundsperson:

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture or similar
• Experience using gardening tools and machinery would be beneficial
• Someone who enjoys working outdoors in a physical, hands-on role
• Takes pride in their work and enjoys seeing the results of their efforts
• Reliable, proactive and willing to learn
• Comfortable working as part of a small team
• Able to respect the discretion required within a private residential environment
