Assistant Management Accountant

Job Description:

RM Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with a Coventry based organisation who are actively seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role will be site based Monday – Friday and there is free parking available on site.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the finance team in delivering accurate and timely management accounts, financial reporting, and analysis. The role is key in assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journals
• Support budget setting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitoring
• Prepare financial reports and analysis to support decision-making
• Support year-end accounts preparation and audit processes
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and statutory requirements
• Assist with payroll accounting and pension reconciliations where required
• Support finance projects and process improvements
• Provide general financial support to budget holders and stakeholders

Person Specification:

• Part-qualified AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or qualified by experience. 
• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good understanding of management accounting principles
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
