My client is an expanding family construction business who specialise in residential contracts and new builds. Due to growth and future expansion plans they are seeking an assistant site foreman to work across a variety of sites within Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.  Working closely with the contracts manager, construction director and managing director supporting with a variety of projects at any one time. They are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work as part of a team and equally make decisions on their own initiative. Previous experience in a hands-on site role is essential. Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing daily operations on site from bespoke renovations to new builds from groundworks up
• Manage the allocation of trades and labour, employed and subcontractors
• Conduct site safety inductions
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with H & S and building regulations
• Problem solving on site and making decisions to prevent project delays
• Quantifying materials and ordering efficiently
• Conduct daily inspections of works carried out identifying any snags and exercising appropriate action in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Hands on approach and being able to carry out any snags/fixes on site
• Liaising with all internal /external stakeholders including trades people, suppliers and potential customers

Skills and experience

• Previous experience in a hands-on construction role
• Previous experience as a tradesman
• SMSTS an advantage
• CSCS Managers card
• Can do attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Organised & methodical
• Attention to detail
• Full driving licence and own car.
