A well-established and growing engineering consultancy based in Leicester is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to join its leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced structural engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career, contributing to both technical delivery and the strategic development of the business.
The practice delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across the residential and commercial sectors, ranging from private developments and housing schemes to mixed-use and commercial buildings. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading projects, mentoring engineers, and strengthening client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of structural engineering projects across residential and commercial developments.
- Manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Review and approve structural designs, calculations, drawings, and reports.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and other project stakeholders.
- Support business development activities, including preparing proposals and attending client meetings.
- Contribute to the strategic growth and direction of the Leicester office.
About You
- Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE) or close to achieving chartership.
- Significant experience in structural design for residential and commercial buildings.
- Strong knowledge of UK design standards and construction methods.
- Proficiency with structural design software and analysis tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and mentoring teams.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- A proactive mindset with the ambition to contribute to business growth.
