Pk Education are recruiting for an ASD Specialist support assistant to work in a specialist school in Coventry. This is a term time only position, starting in September offering consistency, meaningful work, and the chance to change lives every single day.

Job spec & Description:

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching assistant qualification: Cache level 2 or level 3 diploma in supporting teaching and learning in schools  or equivalent.
• Experience working with ASD in Special schools or similar setting.
• Additional training is an advantage; Autism Awareness, Team Teach, PECS, MAKATON, FIRST AID.
• Must have patience and empathy.
• Good communication, including non-verbal strategies.
• Adaptability
• Understanding of sensory and communication needs.
• Must hold Child and Adult workforce DBS on the subscription service or willing to obtain a new one.
