About the Role
We are seeking a resilient, compassionate and skilled Beauty Instructor to join a specialist SEMH provision, working with young people who face significant emotional, social and behavioural challenges.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who believes in relational teaching and trauma-informed practice, and who can use beauty therapy as a powerful tool to re-engage learners, build confidence and develop employability skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, accredited or vocational beauty sessions tailored to individual needs
- Use beauty therapy as a therapeutic and relational tool to build trust, self-esteem and regulation
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour calmly and consistently
- Adapt teaching strategies to support learners with SEMH needs
- Track progress and contribute to individual learning and behaviour plans
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene within the beauty learning environment
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, support staff and leadership
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a relevant beauty therapy qualification (Level 2 or above preferred)
- Have experience teaching, training or mentoring young people (SEMH experience desirable but not essential)
- Be emotionally resilient, patient and reflective
- Understand or be open to learning about trauma-informed and restorative approaches
- Be confident setting boundaries while maintaining warmth and respect
- Believe that behaviour is communication, not defiance
