Progress Teachers are working to appoint a dedicated Behaviour & Pastoral Mentor to support pupils in a local mainstream secondary setting to overcome a range of barriers to education and make positive academic and personal progress.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions to support students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
- Act as a key worker for identified students, monitoring progress and liaising with parents, carers and professionals.
- Develop positive relationships with students to build self-esteem, motivation, and resilience.
- Assist with behaviour monitoring and analysis, using school data systems.
- Support reintegration of students following exclusions or extended absences.
- Contribute to the wider pastoral care provision, including safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives.
- Maintain detailed records of interventions and student progress.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or pastoral setting (essential)
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and child development (essential)
- A Level 3 qualification in Education, Youth Work, Psychology or a related field (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and solution-focused under pressure
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training will be provided)
- Experience working with external agencies such as CAMHS, Social Services or SEND support (desirable)
