Job Title: Bench Hand Joiner (Retail & Point of Sale Sector)

Location: Leicester

Rate: £18.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-Time/Permanent

Job Purpose:

To manufacture, assemble, and finish high-quality bespoke joinery for retail environments and point of sale displays, ensuring precision, durability, and aesthetic appeal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Construct, assemble, and finish bespoke retail furniture, display units, signage, and POS components.
• Operate woodworking machinery (e.g., saws, planers, sanders, drills) safely and efficiently.
• Work with various materials including timber, MDF, acrylic, and other substrates.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and clients to meet project deadlines and requirements.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products.
• Follow health and safety regulations at all times.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as a bench hand joiner or in similar woodworking/joinery roles.
• Skilled in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Good knowledge of materials, tools, and machinery used in joinery.
• Ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
• Experience working on retail or POS display projects is desirable.
• Apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) in Carpentry & Joinery or related fields.
