The Role
As a Business Development Manager (New Business Apprenticeship Sales), you’ll be responsible for driving the growth of our client’s Level 3, 4 & 7 Data and AI Apprenticeship programmes.
This is a new business sales role, where you’ll identify fresh employer partnerships, nurture relationships across industries, and oversee apprenticeship growth initiatives. You’ll use cutting-edge sales technology and updated systems to work smarter, not harder—helping employers to embrace apprenticeships and develop the next generation of skilled professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business sales by developing strategies to expand apprenticeship programmes across target industries and regions.
- Identify, engage, and maintain strong relationships with apprenticeship employer-partners and key stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to identify industry needs, trends, and opportunities for apprenticeship placements.
- Use innovative sales techniques and new CRM/software tools to track activity, analyse data, and improve conversion.
- Lead negotiations with employers—defining programme requirements, expectations, and timelines.
- Collaborate with marketing to design campaigns and materials that promote apprenticeship opportunities.
- Support employers and apprentices throughout the apprenticeship lifecycle (recruitment, training, evaluation, certification).
- Track and analyse performance metrics to recommend improvements.
- Stay up to date with apprenticeship regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
- Represent our client at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Work with the Apprenticeship Management Team to build relationships with educational institutions, industry associations, and government agencies.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnership management, ideally within apprenticeships.
- Knowledge of apprenticeship models, regulations, and industry trends.
- Experience in Data Apprenticeships is highly desirable.
- Track record of using modern sales techniques, digital tools, and CRM systems to achieve results.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with a history of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organised and capable of managing multiple projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and sales technology/CRM software.
- Willingness to travel when required.
