CAD Designer

Permanent | £35,000 – £45,000
Location: Wykin, Leicestershire
(Easily commutable from Nuneaton, Coventry, Leicester, Market Bosworth, and surrounding areas)

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced CAD Designer to join a fast-moving engineering team within a manufacturing environment. Accuracy is critical as your drawings and data directly impact production, cost, and quality. This is a hands-on role where your work will be visible, valued, and used every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
• Design sheet metal parts, machined components, and cable/electrical assemblies
• Manage engineering changes and ECR documentation
• Maintain configuration control of 3D models and ERP data
• Support cost-reduction initiatives and product range expansion
• Work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and operations

Experience & Skills Required

• Proven experience in sheet metal design within a manufacturing environment
• Strong SolidWorks capability (3D modelling & 2D drawings)
• Clear understanding of how design decisions affect manufacturing, cost, and quality
• Competent with Excel
• Experience using Epicor ERP or similar systems is desirable
• Agile, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
