Cad Technician

Job Description:

Engineering @365 is working with a leading specialist joinery company that offers end-to-end design, manufacturing and installation services. They deliver high-quality joinery and specialist finishes across multiple sectors and are now looking to recruit a  CAD Technician to join the team at their Leicestershire facility.

About the role:

As a CAD Technician, you’ll work at a Leicestershire-based facility for a family-run company with a strong history and focus on quality. This hands-on role involves designing bespoke interior joinery projects and Point of Sale (POS) projects and collaborating closely with the design team to deliver high-quality solutions for a diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce accurate manufacturing drawings and 3D models from architectural designs
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, project specifications, and regulations (e.g. fire, DDA, BREEAM)
• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve design and buildability issues
• Attend design meetings and provide technical input as needed
• Maintain detailed documentation including check sheets, cutting lists, and verified surveys
• Manage workloads within set timeframes and budgets, reporting issues to the Lead CAD Technician
• Support quality, health & safety, and environmental procedures across all tasks

What we’re looking for:

• 3D and 2D design experience.
• Experience working with wood and/or specialist joinery.
• Experienced with AutoCAD and Inventor
