Job Description:

CAD Technician £35,000 – £40,000 | Leicester / Derby / Warwick | Own Transport Required

Are you an experienced Structural CAD Technician or Structural Engineering Design Engineer looking for your next career move? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Midlands‑based engineering consultancy who are expanding their Structural Engineering team across Leicester, Derby and Warwick. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of structural design, heritage, refurbishment and new‑build engineering projects, alongside a highly skilled and award‑winning team.

You will work with Chartered Engineers, mid‑level designers and graduates to produce high‑quality technical drawings, 3D models and design documentation for a wide variety of structural engineering projects.
Projects will include:

• Bespoke new‑build structures
• Complex refurbishment schemes
• Heritage and conservation engineering
• Sustainable and low‑carbon design solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Producing accurate structural drawings for concept, preliminary and detailed design
• Using AutoCAD and Revit to create 2D and 3D structural models
• Collaborating with engineers, architects, developers and contractors
• Ensuring accuracy, attention to detail and adherence to design standards
• Supporting multiple projects across offices when required (travel essential)

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years’ experience as a Structural Technician or Structural CAD Technician
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit (essential)
• Experience producing drawings for structural engineering projects
• Ability to communicate with internal teams and external professionals
• High level of accuracy, organisation and ownership of work
• Proactive mindset and strong teamwork skills
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (required due to travel between offices)
