Carpenter - Housing

Job Description:

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a skilled Carpenter/Multi-Skilled Repairs Operative on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Duties:

• Carry out carpentry repairs and maintenance in occupied and void properties

• Install and repair kitchen units, worktops, wall cupboards, and base units

• Fit and adjust bathroom components including boxing-in pipework, bath panels, vanity units, and doors

• Carry out internal joinery including door hanging, skirting, architraves, and shelving

• Conduct surveys to assess required work and materials for kitchen and bathroom installations

• Complete work in line with regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and health & safety policies

• Accurately record materials, time, and actions using a PDA

• Support a ‘Right First Time’ approach and uphold the council’s customer service values

• Liaise with the Asset Management Team to schedule and prioritise works

• Maintain van stock and tools in good working order

• Work collaboratively with other trades to complete full kitchen and bathroom refurbishments

What We’re Looking For:

• NVQ/City & Guilds in Carpentry or 3+ years’ time-served experience

• Proven experience fitting and repairing kitchens and bathrooms

• Full UK driving licence

• Strong understanding of domestic property repairs and maintenance

• Knowledge of health & safety legislation and safe working practices

• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
