Join us as a Children and Young Persons Senior Residential Support Worker in our brand-new emotional wellbeing home in Coalville. We have an exciting project to deliver therapeutic residential care to some of the county’s most vulnerable young people. You would be working for one of the largest and longest standing childrens charity in England giving you job security and masses of employment opportunities.
🏠 About the home
We are based in Coalville and provide a warm and supportive environment for up to 3 children and young people aged 8–18 years. The service supports those with complex needs and emotional challenges, helping them build confidence, develop independence and form meaningful connections. While Coalville will be your main base, we ask you to be flexible to work in our other homes in Hinckley, Syston and Mountsorrel - if and when needed.
🔑 What you’ll be doing
As a Children and Young Persons Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll:
- Build positive, nurturing relationships with children and young people
- Lead, coach, and support a team of Residential Support Workers
- Help manage daily routines, including cooking, cleaning, and home maintenance
- Ensure high standards of safeguarding and emotional support
- Work closely with families, Carers and external professionals
- Keep accurate records and support care planning
📋 What we’re looking for
- A driver with access to own car (essential)
- A background working with children and young people with emotional or behavioural needs (essential)
- At least 1 years’ experience supervising in a residential care setting (essential)
- A Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (or a willingness to complete it)
- A solid understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
