Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a specialist SEN school in Corby in their search for a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team. This role focuses on working within a secondary-aged ASD class, supporting pupils with severe autism and complex needs.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher or a passionate educator with a strong interest in special educational needs who is looking to make a meaningful difference. The school provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for young people with significant communication difficulties, sensory processing needs, and behaviours associated with severe autism. Each pupil is supported through highly personalised learning programmes designed to promote independence, engagement, and preparation for adulthood.

As the SEN Teacher, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils who are working well below age-related expectations. You will use autism-specific strategies such as visual timetables, structured routines, sensory regulation approaches, and alternative communication methods (including AAC where appropriate) to support learning and emotional wellbeing. Lessons will be adapted to support both academic progress and functional life skills, helping students develop confidence and essential skills for their future.

You will be supported by a skilled team of teaching assistants and will work closely with therapists, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure a holistic, person-centred approach to education. The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

• Have experience working with secondary-aged pupils with ASD and/or complex SEN (desirable but not essential)

• Demonstrate strong behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

• Be committed to inclusive, child-centred education

• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
