The Role

We’re recruiting a CNC Operator for a well-established precision engineering business in Kettering.

This is an operator-focused role, not a full programming position. However, candidates must understand CNC programs, be comfortable working with Fanuc controls, and be able to identify and react to issues if something isn’t running correctly.

This role suits someone who is technically aware, reliable, and wants a stable, long-term position.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating CNC machines using Fanuc controls

• Loading programs, setting tools, and running parts to drawing

• Monitoring machine performance and spotting program or machining issues

• Making basic offsets and adjustments where required

• Working from engineering drawings

• Carrying out quality checks using measuring equipment

• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a CNC Operator

• Fanuc control experience is essential

• Good understanding of CNC programs (even if not programming from scratch)

• Ability to recognise faults or errors in machining cycles

• Experience working to tight tolerances

• Background in milling, turning, or both (advantageous)

• Reliable, methodical, and quality-focused

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Exposure to other CNC controls (Mazak, Siemens, Haas, etc.)

• Some setting experience

• Experience in a precision engineering environment
