CNC Programmer / Machinist (Mill‑Turn)
Location: Castle Donington
Salary: £40,000 + Benefits
Hours: Days (Mon–Thurs 8am–5pm, Fri 8am–1pm)
Employment: Full‑time, Permanent
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Castle Donington. This is a hands‑on, high‑precision role within a modern Metallic Machine Shop, working on complex components for major aerospace programmes.

The Role
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines (multi‑axis)
- Creating and optimising CNC programs using CAD/CAM software
- Working to extremely tight aerospace tolerances and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Selecting tooling, speeds, and feeds for a range of exotic materials
- Conducting in‑process inspections using micrometres, gauges, and other precision equipment
- Collaborating with design and production teams to improve manufacturability
- Identifying process improvements to reduce cycle times and increase productivity
- Supporting new materials, new machining techniques, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining machinery and ensuring a clean, organised workspace in line with 5S
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist
- Proficient with EdgeCam, ISO, or Fanuc controls
- Strong understanding of 5‑axis CNC milling
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
- Skilled in tooling selection and machining strategies for high‑performance materials
- Excellent problem‑solving ability and strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
