Community Support Worker
Salary: £15.66 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: Rutland
Client: Rutland County Council
Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Day shifts)
Driving: Full UK licence required
About the Role: The Community Support Worker will provide care and support to adults with learning disabilities within a day service setting. The role focuses on promoting independence, inclusion, and wellbeing through meaningful activities, education, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities in a day opportunities environment.
• Support individuals to participate in meaningful activities, employment, education, and community access.
• Assist with personal care tasks, including washing, dressing, and administering medication.
• Promote independence, choice, and dignity in all aspects of support.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of individual support plans.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure positive outcomes.

Experience & Knowledge

• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a care or community setting.
• Knowledge of person-centred approaches and safeguarding principles.
• Understanding of the importance of promoting inclusion and independence.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with service users.
• Reliable, empathetic, and adaptable approach to work.
• Good organisational and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant Health & Social Care qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) – desirable.
• Mandatory care training certificates (e.g. Moving & Handling, First Aid, Medication Administration) – desirable.

Other Requirements

• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
