Community Support Worker – Supported Living (Nights)
Salary: £15.66 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: Rutland
Client: Rutland County Council
Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: 10pm-8am shifts Monday-Sunday varied rota depending on availability.
About the Role: The Community Support Worker will provide care and support to an adult with autism living in their own home. The role involves delivering person-centred support during night shifts, ensuring the individual's safety, comfort, and wellbeing while promoting independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personalised care and support to an adult with autism in a supported living setting.
• Deliver consistent overnight support to ensure safety and reassurance.
• Assist with personal care tasks as required.
• Support with routines, communication, and maintaining a calm and structured environment.
• Monitor and record observations and any incidents in accordance with care plans and policies.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Experience & Knowledge

• Experience supporting individuals with autism or other learning disabilities.
• Understanding of person-centred care and autism-specific support approaches.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.

Skills & Competencies

• Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts.
• Good observational and record-keeping skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant Health & Social Care qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) – desirable.
• Up-to-date mandatory care training (e.g. Medication Administration, First Aid, Moving & Handling) – desirable.

Other Requirements

• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Female candidate required due to the personal care needs of the individual (Genuine Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9, Equality Act 2010).
• Flexibility and commitment to night working patterns.
