
Job Title: Construction Site Manager – Architectural & Secondary Steel
Location: LE2 (Candidates must live within 1 hour’s travel)
Salary: £45,000 per annum (negotiable, depending on experience)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee projects involving architectural balustrading and secondary steelwork, managing operations both at site and office level. The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning, coordination, and delivery of works to ensure high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong background in the steel industry, excellent technical understanding of drawings and fabrication, and the ability to manage both people and processes effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all site activities related to architectural balustrading and secondary steelwork.
Develop and implement Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and ensure compliance with company and statutory H&S requirements.
Review and interpret technical drawings to ensure project requirements are fully understood and executed accurately.
Plan and manage project timelines, resources, and materials to meet agreed deadlines.
Liaise directly with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and project progress.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality and safety standards.
Oversee site-based teams, providing leadership, direction, and problem-solving support.
Prepare and manage documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and progress reports.
Requirements
Must live within 1 hour travel time of LE2 7ST.
Proven site-based experience within the architectural or secondary steel industry.
Valid CSCS card (Supervisory or Manager level preferred).
Strong technical knowledge of architectural balustrading and secondary steelwork fabrication and installation.
Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
Excellent understanding of site operations, time management, and client liaison.
Flexible approach – must be willing to work outside of standard 8–5 hours when required.
Full UK driving licence.
