Cover Supervisor

Job Description:

Are you passionate about guiding students through their educational journey? Join our team as a Cover Supervisor in our vibrant secondary school community across Nottingham! We're seeking a dedicated individual to oversee classrooms, support learning, and maintain a positive environment in the absence of teachers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and regulate student conduct in the teacher's absence.
• Establish a secure, safe and disciplined learning atmosphere.
• Confirm students' comprehension of assignments and sustain their engagement.
• Provide assistance to students facing challenges in grasping the material.
• Demonstrate adaptability by being willing to cover various subjects or year levels.
• Readily undertake additional school duties as needed.
• Work within and implement the schools behaviour policy, maintaining high standards.
• Safeguarding the pupils within your care in line with the KCSIE guidance 2025

Requirements

• A minimum of GCSE’s in Mathematics and English
• Strong Communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly
• Organisation and Time Management skills
• Be able to effectively manage a classroom environment along with following lesson plans
• To be able to positively engage with students of all ages and abilities
• At least 6 months experience of working with children – not necessarily in a classroom setting.
• DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) on the update service or willingness to apply for one

• The flexibility to work across multiple work sites and you will have the skills to adapt to different settings.
• Confidence and passion to pursue a career in an educational setting.
