Credit Controller
Location: Colwick, Nottingham
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm
Start Date: Immediate | Office Based
Benefits: 23 days holiday (rising by 1 day each year up to 25), Company pension, Early finish on Fridays

We are representing a thriving business based in Colwick, Nottingham, who are seeking a proactive and commercially-minded Credit Controller to join their close-knit finance team. This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of the credit control function and play a key role in managing cash flow and debt recovery.
As the Credit Controller, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing credit risk and evaluating the creditworthiness of new and existing customers
- Setting and managing credit limits and ensuring compliance with agreed terms
- Monitoring and forecasting accounts to identify when customers are nearing their credit limit and chasing interim payments as required
- Chasing overdue invoices, negotiating repayment plans, and managing the debt recovery process
- Producing aged debt reports and cash flow forecasts
- Liaising with customers to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships
- Collaborating with internal teams including sales and accounts to ensure smooth processes
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Processing invoices and reconciling customer accounts
- Tracking and managing late payments
- Setting up and maintaining structured repayment plans
- Initiating legal proceedings for long-outstanding debts when necessary
- Ensuring compliance with internal credit policies
- Supporting the finance team with general administration and reporting
- Analysing past payment trends and making recommendations for improvement
- Achieving set targets for debt recovery
