Design Technology Teacher - Resistant Materials

• Location: Leicester
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: Easter 2026
• Contract: Part-Time role (0.8)
• Salary: MPS/UPS

About the Role:

We are working in partnership with an Ofsted 'Good' 11-16 secondary school in Leicester who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed DT Teacher who is immediately available to provide long-term cover. This is a part-time job working 4 days a week, excluding Tuesday until Easter 2026. Due to this being a long-term job, full teaching responsibilities will be required, including planning and marking.

Job Description:

• Teach engaging lessons in Resistant Materials and Product Design
• Use tools like CAD/CAM, 3D printers, and laser cutters
• Support students with GCSE Design & Technology projects
• Keep the workshop safe, organised, and inspiring
• Get involved in clubs and projects like STEM, robotics, or eco-design

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
• Recent experience teaching DT/Resistant Materials at secondary school level
• Strong behaviour/classroom management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
• Hold an in-date health & safety workshop certificate
• A passion for hands-on learning and creativity
