Job Description:

Salary: £120-£150 per day Contract: Permanent or Temp-to-Perm Start: ASAP

Prospero Teaching is proud to be working with a well-regarded secondary school in Nottingham that is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design Technology Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. The school is open to offering the role either as a straight permanent placement or on a temp-to-perm route, depending on your preference.

The successful candidate will support the Design Technology department across a range of specialisms, ensuring workshops and classrooms are safe, well-equipped, and ready for high-quality teaching and learning. You'll work closely with teachers and students, helping to prepare materials, maintain equipment, and contribute to a creative, hands-on learning environment.

• Preparing and organising materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons

• Maintaining machinery and ensuring all equipment meets safety standards

• Supporting students during practical tasks where appropriate

• Managing stock levels and ordering resources

• Ensuring a safe, tidy, and efficient workshop environment

• Experience working within a DT department or workshop environment

• Strong practical skills across areas such as woodwork, metalwork, or resistant materials

• Good understanding of health and safety procedures

• Organised, proactive, and able to work independently

• A genuine interest in supporting young people and education
