Job Description:
EC&I Technician – Nottingham – Up to £51,500 DOE plus excellent benefits.
MechTech Professionals are recruiting for an EC&I Technician based in Nottingham. This is your chance to join a leading Energy from Waste plant where the EC&I Technician will provide corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance across all areas of the process. We are looking to onboard as soon as possible or upon availability.
Salary: Upto £51,500 DOE plus excellent benefits

EC&I Technician duties include:
- Implement and execute all corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance
- Develop and maintain the site CMMS.
- Assist in developing maintenance strategies to increase plant availability
- Plan and support all planned outages, ensuring schedules and maintenance programmes are completed on time and within budget
- Supervise and liaise with subcontractors as required
- Deputise for the Maintenance Engineer when needed
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with company procedures and regulations
- Proactively identify and suggest improvements for energy performance and safety
The successful candidate:
- ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- C&G Parts 1 & 2 and up-to-date 18th Edition Regulations knowledge; C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing is a plus
- Experience with 11kV operations (desirable)
- Strong understanding of variable speed drives, controls, instrumentation (e.g. temperature, pressure, level, CEMS)
- Skilled in fault-finding, repair, and design of instrumentation/control systems (Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, SCADA)
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- PC literate, with Ethernet (copper/fibre, POE) experience and ability to diagnose/repair PCs to component level
- Competent in generating, reading, and editing electrical drawings
- Experience with PAT testing, sourcing spares, and maintaining plant records
- Completion of relevant Competency Management System modules and required training
- Ability to organise and supervise electrical works for site teams and contractors
