Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description:

Engineering @365 is working with a leading provider of facilities, machinery, automation and control-to-end design, manufacturing and installation services. They deliver design of panel and field installations from concept to on-site commissioning relating to automated control systems across multiple sectors and are now looking to recruit an  Electrical Design Engineers to join the team.

About the role:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering multiple projects from concept to completion. This includes attending site visits to assess client requirements, creating detailed electrical designs, and commissioning the final product on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and produce electrical control schematic diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, cable block diagrams, and PLC wiring diagrams with I/O schedules.
• Develop panel layouts, bills of materials, and LV distribution systems, including cable sizing and calculations.
• Design machinery safety circuits and perform risk assessments in line with BS EN ISO 13849/60261.
• Prepare supporting technical and installation documentation.
• Collaborate with on-site teams to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
• Lead project commissioning activities and carry out safety validation checks.
• Adhere to safe working practices and promote sustainability throughout all phases of the project.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex faults in large control panels and automated machinery.

What we’re looking for:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Electrical qualifications such as HNC, BTEC, and/or NVQ Level 3.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
• Proven experience in electrical design, preferably within an industrial setting or the food and beverage manufacturing sector.
