My client, a leading renewable energy organisation is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their Asset Operations Technical Service & Delivery team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in the maintenance and optimisation of low-carbon energy assets, helping to drive the UK's net-zero ambitions.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide essential in-field engineering support for both High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems. You will work across a diverse portfolio that includes onshore and offshore wind, solar, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), and private projects throughout the UK and Ireland.
Working alongside Area Managers, Technicians, and contractors, you'll ensure maintenance scopes are delivered effectively, while championing innovation, safety, and operational excellence.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Deliver hands-on electrical engineering support across renewable energy sites
Support planned maintenance, fault finding, and repair of HV/LV assets
Create and review technical documents including work scopes and quality plans
Lead asset improvement initiatives and continuous performance optimisation
Manage modifications, repairs, and the asset change process
Maintain and update site documentation, SLDs, and test reports
Conduct root cause analyses and support incident investigations
Ensure compliance with internal asset management policies and safety standards
Train towards becoming a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under E&M Safety Rules
YOu must have:
HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Proven experience with HV switchgear, transformers, XLPE cables, joints & terminations
Strong background in the power generation or renewable energy sectors
NEBOSH/IOSH certification (or equivalent) preferred
Confident in defect management and delivering safe working environments
Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe and work at height when needed
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Full UK driving licence
