Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Facilities Maintenance

Up to £40,000 + Van
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our client's facilities team, providing essential maintenance support across a number of leisure centres in the Coventry area. The successful candidate will take responsibility for ensuring all electrical systems and equipment are safe, compliant, and operating efficiently to support the day-to-day running of their sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hours: 06:00 - 14:30 (1 in 5 weekly rota late shift 13:30 - 22:00). 1 in 5 weeks shift (5 day working week).
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a range of electrical systems and equipment.
- Perform electrical testing and inspection in accordance with current regulations.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
- Undertake general building maintenance tasks as required, supporting the wider maintenance team.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory requirements at all times.
- Keep accurate records of all work completed and report issues or recommendations to management.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers where required.
- Provide occasional out-of-hours support for emergency maintenance issues.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent).
- Test & Inspect qualification (City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 & 2395) is essential.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
- Strong understanding of BS7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- Full UK driving licence - essential.
Desirable:
- Experience working in leisure, commercial, or public buildings.
- Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and pool plant operations.
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, or mechanical skills.
