Contract Electronics Hardware Design Engineer
Location: Leicestershire 
Contract Type: Contract
Pay: £35–£45 per hour (DOE) (Outside IR-35) 

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Hardware Design Engineer to support the development of PCB-based electronic products. The role involves working across the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through to design, testing, and manufacture. You will be part of a small engineering team, contributing directly to the delivery of practical, real-world hardware solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Design analogue and digital circuits for new and existing products
• Produce schematic capture and PCB layouts using industry-standard tools
• Take designs from concept through to testing and production
• Carry out debugging, fault finding, and board-level troubleshooting
• Support prototype development and manufacturing activities
• Work collaboratively within a small team to deliver projects efficiently
• Operate with a high level of autonomy and technical ownership

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in electronics hardware design and PCB development
• Proven ability to design circuits and boards from first principles
• Experience with analogue and digital electronics
• Familiarity with tools such as Altium or equivalent PCB design software
• Hands-on approach to testing, debugging, and problem solving
• Comfortable working in a small, collaborative engineering environment
