Engineering Technician, Hinckley

• Engineering Technician, Vehicle Technician jobs, Automotive Technician jobs, Workshop Technician Jobs. 
• 12 months initial PAYE contract.
• £17 - £19 per hour including holiday pay commensurate with experience.
• 39 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:30 and Fri 08:00 – 15:30 with 30mins lunch each day.
• Excellent opportunity to work in an incredibly interesting automotive engineering environment NOT a garage or service workshop. 
• Role would suit an engineering technician with experience within an automotive / vehicle repair, service, research, development, or test environment.

This Engineering Technician job will involve:

• Preparing vehicles for crash testing and stripping vehicles following crash testing.
• Fitting instrumentation to vehicles and removing following the completion of tests.
• Checking instrumentation and test equipment after crash tests.
• Use of data acquisition systems.
• Some fabrication work (cutting, grinding, drilling, welding)
• Working with and supporting Engineers during tests.

This Vehicle Technician job will suit:

• A Vehicle Technician or Automotive Technician or Engineering Technician with experience of working within an automotive / vehicle workshop environment.
• A good general and practical understanding of vehicles, as well an the ability to use an array of hand & power tools.
• You will ideally hold a level 3 qualification in a motor vehicle engineering, mechanics, or a similar engineering discipline.
• Have care and pride in your work – you will be working with high value test equipment and vehicles.
