Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join their dedicated team. With over two decades of experience in delivering bespoke hospitality and retail interior projects, we pride ourselves on our commitment to innovation, sustainable design, and exceptional craftsmanship. Our expertise spans retail design, interiors, shopfitting, health and wellness, and international airports. The Estimator will play a crucial role in analysing project requirements, preparing precise cost estimates, and collaborating with our project managers and fitting teams to ensure the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse project documents, specifications, and technical drawings to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimating.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for various materials, including wood, metals, solid surface, stone, and upholstery, ensuring alignment with project specifications and a commitment to responsible design.
• Consult with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing, ensuring the use of sustainable and allergy-friendly materials whenever possible.
• Develop and maintain an extensive database of costs and materials aligned with our mission of responsible design and innovation.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and the design team, discussing bid specifications and implementation strategies.
• Identify potential risks associated with projects and propose solutions to mitigate them while adhering to industry regulations and the WELL Principles.
• Maintain clear communication with clients about estimates, project progress, and necessary adjustments, ensuring the delivery of healthy spaces that support well-being.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed to gather relevant information for accurate estimates.
• Prepare and present comprehensive proposals to management and clients that reflect our values and expertise.

Qualifications:

• Essential: Background in joinery, with proven experience as an Estimator in the construction, retail design or interior design industry, particularly with bespoke projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of various materials and their applications, as well as construction methods and regulations.
• Proficiency in estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a considerate and collaborative approach.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while managing multiple projects effectively.
