
EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant for EYFS Support ( Mornings Only and EYFS experience essential)
In early years, the right support at the right moment can change how a child experiences their day. In this EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will be that person. This is a mornings only position at a mainstream school in Coventry, supporting a young pupil (3 years old) who is on the pathway for an autism diagnosis. If successful, you will work from 8:30 to 12:30, Monday to Friday.
This is a role for someone who notices the small things, whether it is how they respond to a new activity or what helps them stay calm when the room gets busy.
Responsibilities
Provide one to one support each morning, 8:30 to 12:30
Help the child take part in sensory play, routines, and early learning
Support communication and interaction using simple strategies
Offer reassurance during transitions and busy moments
Carry out personal care when needed
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Contribute to short notes that support ongoing assessments
Requirements
Experience supporting autistic children within the last three years
Recent experience in an EYFS or nursery setting (essential)
Understanding of early years development and sensory needs
Calm, patient, and consistent approach
Ability to form trusting relationships with young children
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
