Job Description:
Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Family Time Worker to join a local authority team based in Burton-on-Trent. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Overview:
The successful candidate will work closely with children, families, foster carers and professionals to facilitate safe and positive family time sessions. This is a hands on role requiring strong safeguarding awareness, clear communication skills and the ability to manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner.
Main Duties:
- Safely transporting children and young people to and from family time sessions
- Booking appropriate venues and preparing rooms for supervised contact
- Supervising family time sessions to ensure the safety and welfare of the child
- Observing and accurately recording sessions using Care Director
- Communicating effectively with parents, foster carers and relevant professionals
- Reporting any safeguarding concerns in line with local authority procedures
- Maintaining clear, factual and timely case records
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience working with children and families within a social care setting
- Strong understanding of children's safeguarding policies and procedures
- Experience supervising contact or family time sessions
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
