Financial Controller

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an ambitious and adaptable Financial Controller to take ownership of financial operations, governance, and strategic support.
As Financial Controller, you’ll play a central role in shaping the group’s financial strategy, building strong internal systems, ensuring robust reporting, and supporting senior leaders across R&D, operations, and commercial functions.
  
The Financial Controller will:

• Oversee group-wide financial operations, ensuring robust governance, compliance, and timely reporting.
• Provide strategic financial insight to the senior leadership team, supporting key commercial and investment decisions.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting to align with the group’s growth objectives.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and long-term financial sustainability across multiple entities.
• Strengthen financial systems, controls, and processes to support a scaling organisation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small but growing finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.

  
The Financial Controller will have:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
• Experience across financial reporting, tax compliance, audits, R&D investment, and managing government funding mechanisms.
• Commercial acumen with experience influencing strategic decisions at leadership level.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to balance operational detail and strategic oversight.
