The Role

As a Food Technology Teacher, whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging, interactive lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, focusing on essential topics such as cooking techniques, nutrition, food safety, and sustainability

• Support student learning through constructive feedback and innovative teaching methods, ensuring that each student can thrive in both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject

• Collaborate with the department to continually refine and enhance the Food Technology curriculum, making sure it remains relevant, engaging, and challenging

• Inspire students to explore the science, culture, and sustainability behind food, fostering a deep interest in the subject

• Contribute to extracurricular activities, including food-related clubs, cooking events, and competitions, further enriching students' engagement with food technology

• For experienced teachers, provide mentorship and support to colleagues, sharing best practices and contributing to the development of the department

• Receive mentorship and professional development as an Early Career Teacher (ECT), ensuring you have the tools and guidance to grow in your teaching career

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a dedicated Food Technology Teacher who can bring passion, energy, and expertise to the classroom. Whether you are an ECT or an experienced teacher, you will:

• ✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field

• ✔️ A passion for food technology, with a desire to inspire students and share both practical and theoretical knowledge

• ✔️ For ECTs: A strong desire to develop professionally with the support of mentoring and guidance from experienced colleagues

• ✔️ For experienced teachers: A track record of success in teaching food technology, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and student progress

• ✔️ Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

• ✔️ A proactive attitude to contributing to extracurricular activities that support the development of the food technology programme
