Role summary:
We’re looking for an organised and self-motivated individual to join and help lead the Divisional Finance team. The role will work closely with the Divisional Financial Controller to support the business by providing meaningful information and analysis for informed decision making as well as in depth forecasting. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with leadership qualities, able to prioritise workloads, with the ability to communicate effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation and oversight of the annual budget and any further forecasting undertaken by the business
- Analysing and understanding variance to budget and prior periods; highlighting any potential areas of concerns to the appropriate people
- Supporting Divisional Financial Controller with meeting reporting/analytical requirements
- Must be willing and able to visit the depots around the country to grow understanding of the business and work with management teams on forecasting
- Involvement/oversight of daily/weekly/monthly reporting
- Help lead continuousimprovement in all that we do including automation and standardisation where possible
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong excel skills including working with large amounts of data in an efficient manner
- Previous experience in an FP&A type role; preferably studying for professional exams or recently qualified
- The candidate would ideally have experience of working closely with non-finance individuals
- Used to working to and achieving tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Financial systems experience desirable
- Driving licence

- Ability to continually review the reports produced by themselves and the team for their effectiveness within the business

- Strong communication skills are essential
- Be a team player, with ability lead and guide from the front to achieve successful team outcomes
