We’re seeking a Gateway HLTA / Cover Supervisor to join a dynamic alternative provision setting in Derby, supporting young people who thrive with a more tailored approach to learning.

About the Role:
This is a varied and hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys stepping into different roles and making a real impact. You’ll be a key part of the team, supporting pupils across the provision and ensuring continuity of learning and care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and key stages
• Supporting the setup and smooth running of classroom and school systems
• Welcoming and liaising confidently with parents, carers, and external visitors
• Conducting pupil assessments and contributing to individual learning plans
• Providing a calm, consistent presence and modelling positive behaviour

What We’re Looking For:

• A flexible, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people
• Experience working in education, ideally with vulnerable or SEND learners
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
• Confidence in leading a class and managing challenging behaviour effectively
• A team player who’s happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in
• Able to work term-time only Monday to Friday 8.30-3.30 with one after school meeting per week
