About The Role & Who We’re Scouting

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and skilled General Practitioner to join our team at LCFCW. As a General Practitioner with a focus predominantly within women's health, you’ll play a key role in providing primary care and leading on the female athlete health provision. 

Your responsibilities will include delivering general primary care services to first team players during twice-weekly on-site clinics, and leading on the development and implementation of the Club’s female athlete health strategy, including menstrual health, contraception, bone health, and RED-S screening.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified General Practitioner (GP) with a valid license to practise and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), with a minimum of 3 years post-CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) clinical experience in general practice. You’ll need specific experience delivering primary care services, ideally within a high-performance, female or sports-focused population and possess a strong understanding of female athlete health issues, including menstrual health, contraception, bone health, and RED-S. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About The Club

In May 2021, LCFC Women were promoted to the FA Women’s Super League. From its formation in 2004, the Club was run on an amateur and semi-professional basis with support from Leicester City Football Club. In August 2020, the Club turned professional after being acquired by King Power International – Leicester City’s parent company – and realigned as a core team in Leicester City’s football operation.
