Transport General Manager
Location: Leicestershire
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

We are seeking an experienced and driven Transport General Manager to lead the operations of a busy and growing transport function in Leicestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a well-established team, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day transport operations, ensuring optimal use of resources and meeting service requirements
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of transport and logistics staff, fostering a high-performance culture
• Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, including Operator Licence obligations, drivers’ hours, and vehicle maintenance standards
• Manage budgets, monitor KPIs, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers
• Oversee fleet management, ensuring vehicles are maintained, serviced, and fit for purpose
• Drive continuous improvement across all transport processes and systems

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience in a senior transport management role
• Strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements
• CPC qualification (National or International) is highly desirable
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and performance metrics
